Students

Please note that things are different in this Covid Pandemic!

It is great that you have chosen to study in Sunderland. At the Minster we are very happy to welcome students as part of our worshipping community. The best thing you can do is come along any Sunday and say hello. We are a multi-national congregation from many parts of the world

Our 9.45 am service is a sung service of Holy Communion with a choir, led by one of the clergy team. The service usually lasts about an hour or so. This worship now happens online on YouTube

After the 9.45 am service there are refreshments in the cafe and a chance to meet and talk. It is always quite lively and busy. Sadly not at the moment!

At 11.30 am we have our “Feast Service” This is a more informal service of worship and prayer, including bible study and discussion, or the opportunity to join in craft activities or simply a time to chill in the Yurt. This service is interactive with a variety of ways to participate. As the new term begins food will be served twice a month after this service. Feast now happens on Zoom, see the Feast Facebook page for details.

On a Monday evening there is the chance to meet at the home of the Anglican Chaplain to the University Chris Howson for “Soul Soup” a chance for food and bible study – a time to ask questions about scripture and to think what this really means for our daily lives. Currently Soul Soup happens on Zoom, see the Feast Facebook page for the link or contact Chris Howson
