David Murray will conduct Bishopwearmouth Choral Society with guest artist Sarah Pring (contralto) in An Evening with Elgar
The Music Makers – a cantata set to the poetry of Arthur O’Shaughnessy featuring choir, contralto and full orchestra. In a piece that celebrates the ‘dreaming artist’ Elgar makes quoptes from several of his famous works – you can hear references to ‘Dream of Gerontius’, ‘Nimrod’, ‘Land of hope and Glory’ and others too.
