Friday Oct 25th 3 pm – Saturday 26th 6.00 pm
A gathering of people interested in social justice and how faith can serve people and planet. In a world of corporate greed, climate chaos, self-interest and individualism, we call for a radical faith to challenge capitalism, and to build solidarity with those marginalised and oppressed. If you’ve ever wondered about Gospel activism, and how to make a difference in the world, come along!
Liberation, Black, Feminist, LGBTQ, Green theologies show a way forward, and these gatherings seek to support those who are practically involved in these endeavours. It is also for those who are interested in faith in practice, to share and learn from each other.
This year, we will have sessions from XR (extinction rebellion) and the Peace Pledge Union. Sue Richardson from Christian Aid and Professor Anthony Reddie will be joining us. This small but wonderful gathering, seeks to strengthen and empower – so come on up to the North East! We gather on Friday at the University of Sunderland Interfaith Chaplaincy Centre from 3pm – take in a liberation themed film, and get to know each other in the evening. Saturday is workshops in Sunderland Minster, soup, sharing, ending with ‘Prayers and Action for a Better World’ at 5pm. We ask for a £10 donation if possible (free for Students and refugees)
